Which classes are taught in Spanish and which are taught in English?

Telpochcalli is committed to supporting the academic and social development of highly competent bilingual students.  Students at Telpochcalli learn in both English and Spanish.  
  • The school begins with a 90/10 model where in Pre- K  90% of the instruction is in Spanish and 10% is in English.  
  • The number of minutes of English increases as the students grade level increases.
  • All students receive literacy instruction in both languages.
  • Math from 4-8th  grade is in English.
  • Social Studies is in Spanish school wide.
  • Science is in Spanish in K-3,5,& 7 and in English in 4,6,& 8.
  • Special classes- Art, Gym, Health, and Spanish Literacy are all in Spanish
